HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 4 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel assured that the country is tracking the meteorological situation and taking timely preventive measures given the likelihood of a tropical depression forming in the Caribbean, including the permanent communication with the population.
In an advisory Sunday, the National Civil Defense Command Post warned people across the island’s central and western provinces that a low-pressure area in the southwestern Caribbean Sea could soon become a tropical cyclone and remarked that, regardless of its evolution and future course, its proximity to Cuba heralds heavy rains and thunderstorms in the said regions.
The Civil Defense system urged the population to keep up with the news broadcasts and comply with the instructions issued in these cases.
