Díaz-Canel on the recovery effort: “I’m struck by our people's resilience”

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 30 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held to be impressed by the resilience of a population devoted to the recovery effort under way in cities and areas of eastern Cuba where Hurricane Oscar caused great damage.

In his message, the Head of State stressed that the rains persist in the city of Baracoa, in the province of Guantánamo—the worst hit by the weather event—but so does people’s eagerness to fully restore the First City’s beauty. “They will succeed”, he assured.

Joining Díaz-Canel in his fourth visit to Baracoa after the passage of Hurricane Oscar were Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman, and Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Party.
