Hospitals in central Cuba receive donation from Italy

 

SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Oct 24 (ACN) The provincial office of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) received a significant donation of medical supplies bound for hospitals in the region, thanks to the solidarity of the Italian family Mesagna Lopez, who have long kept up with the Cuban people’s situation.

ICAP officials said that the donation, which includes 1,000 colostomy bags, will benefit local patients in need of this and other related items and acknowledge the value of the supplies, especially on account of the complex situation that Cuba is going through as a result of the U.S. blockade.

“As far as possible, we will always try to contribute to the health of the Cuban people”, Michele Mesagna and Miriam López assured from Torino, Italy, when they were contacted.

Friendship groups, provincial institutions, the Ministry of Public Health and other entities make it possible for the patients to receive these donations and stay alive despite the problems caused by the aforesaid U.S. Cuba policy.
