Raul Castro Meets Top Political Leader Li Shulei

Havana, Oct 23 (ACN) Cuban Revolution leader, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, met on Wednesday in Havana with Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, who is on an official visit to Cuba to take part at the 6th Theoretical Seminar of the two Communist Parties.

Raul Castro and Li Shulei exchanged views on bilateral relations between the two political organizations and on the significance of the theoretical seminars to share experience on the construction of Socialism.

The Army General conveyed greetings to Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China. Raul thank Xi for his expressed solidarity with Cuba in the current complex circumstances marked by the strengthening of the US blockade against the island nation.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Hua Xin, Chinese ambassador to Cuba; Ma Hui and Wang Gang, deputy chiefs of the international and publicity departments of the CPC Central Committee, and Wang Yulin, general director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the CPC Foreign Relations Department.

On the Cuban side were the members of the Cuban Communist Party’s Central Committee, Roberto Morales and Amado Ricardo—Party Organization Secretary and Secretary of the Council of Ministers respectively. Also present was the head of the Communist Party’s International Relations Department Emilio Lozada and acting Foreign Minister Gerardo Penalver.
