Morales Ojeda receives top Chinese party leader

 

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 22 (ACN) China’s solidarity with Cuba’s current plight became manifest in the meeting that Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC), held with Li Shulei, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Morales Ojeda, who explained to his guest the problems caused by both the energy contingency and Hurricane Oscar, stressed that this visit ratifies the excellent state of relations between the two parties and their common interest in advancing in the implementation of the consensus reached between Presidents Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Xi Jinping, and the strengthening of party relations for the benefit of a community with a shared future, as laid down in the oncoming VI Cuba-China Theoretical Seminar to be held in this city.

The Cuban official congratulated Mr. Shulei on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic and reasserted CPC’s long-standing and unwavering support for the principle of one China and its opposition to any interference in Chinese internal affairs.

On his end, Mr. Shulei highlighted their close relations of friendship and solidarity and his willingness to strengthen the political and strategic approach to inter-party cooperation, as well as his Party’s firm stance against the U.S. blockade of Cuba and the island’s unjust and arbitrary inclusion in the list of state sponsors of terrorism as the main obstacle to the economic and social development of the nation.
