HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 30 (ACN) The 12th Congress on Marine Sciences (MarCuba 2024) will be opened tomorrow until Oct. 4 at the Melia Habana Hotel, although it will hold sessions at the National Aquarium of Cuba, which has specialized for 64 years in research, environmental education and dissemination of the marine environment, flora, fauna and ecology.
A group of 300 delegates from 6 countries will attend its debates, in six symposiums and an initial class, its organizers informed the Cuban News Agency.
Its essential theme is Cuban science for the resilience of coastal marine ecosystems, with the participation of a considerable number of professionals from different disciplines linked to sciences, observation systems, services and coastal and marine technologies.
They will also deal with human impact and risk management, climate change, conservation and biodiversity, biotechnology and food security, maritime and recreational development, environmental education, a special panel on the International Climate Initiative and a temporary poster exhibition.
MarCuba 2024 is organized by the National Oceanographic Committee, the National Aquarium of Cuba as leader and other national marine scientific institutions, and is sponsored by the Environment Agency of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
