HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 30 (ACN) Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez thanked the solidarity and compatriots living abroad who advocate for the end of the US blockade against the island.
The foreign minister emphasized on X that in several parts of the world on Sunday the call “Tear down the blockade” was heard against the economic, financial and commercial siege, Prensa Latina reported.
Rodriguez, who is part of the Cuban delegation present in Mexico for the inauguration of Claudia Sheinbaum, assured that this struggle will not cease “until the U.S. government puts an end to the infamy and injustice perpetrated against the Cuban people”.
The approximate damage caused by the U.S. policy is more than 421 million dollars a month, more than 13.8 million dollars a day, and more than 575,683 dollars in damages for each hour of blockade.
In the last three decades, the UN General Assembly has voted annually on a resolution submitted by the Caribbean nation to demand an end to the US blockade and to spread its excessive impact on the economy.
The most recent vote, held in November 2023, received 187 votes in favor of the resolution, two against (United States and Israel) and the abstention of Ukraine.
