Cuban scientific and technological park strengthens alliances with scientific institutions

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 29 (ACN) In order to strengthen collaboration between science, innovation and the business sector, the Scientific and Technological Park (PCT) of the central province of Villa Clara promotes the signing of agreements with different entities in the search to establish official relations with researchers, scientists, teachers and experts of each project.

Recently, a letter of intent was signed under this premise between the institution and the Faculty of Mechanics of the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas, in the context of the 3rd International Fair of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency.

Sandor Gonzalez Abreu, legal advisor of the PCT, said exclusively to the Cuban News Agency (ACN by its Spanish acronym) that from the interaction of the government, the industry and the university, the interest to create a Factory-Laboratory between the faculties of Industry and Mechanics, and create it as a state-owned MSME, was born.

Gonzalez Abreu explained that the Park is a trading company of Cuban capital and has shareholders from the industrial town of that city.

The entity's corporate purpose is the creation and development of technology-based projects and companies, he added.

Edelys Saavedra Rodriguez, president of the PCT, told ACN that this academic institution in Villa Clara has great prestige at national and international level, and this strengthens the work of the incentive center by laying the foundations for the development of different projects.

The Villa Clara Scientific and Technological Park was founded in 2023 and is the third one in the country; its objective is to promote the socioeconomic progress of the province and the nation.
