PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba, Sep 27 (ACN) The 93 % of the customers in the Cuban westernmost province of Pinar del Rio already have electricity service, thanks to the joint efforts of linemen from several provinces and locals after the passage of Hurricane Helene.
Yamile Ramos Cordero, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary of the PCC in the territory, published on her official Facebook that 114 primary circuits of the 127 affected by the tropical storm have been reestablished.
Work continues on those that keep more than 14,290 Pinar del Rio residents without electricity, she said.
Since Thursday, brigades of electrical workers from Cienfuegos, Mayabeque and Havana have been supporting the recovery work in the municipalities of Sandino, Guane and the capital city, where the greatest damages are reported.
The work of the linemen made it possible to restore services to the wells that supply the three water lines responsible for supplying the capital city.
