HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 27 (ACN) The signing of seven new bilateral agreements in the context of the state visit to Cuba by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President of that nation, is a new opportunity to deepen relations between the two countries.
The agreements include inter-party links between the Communist Party of Cuba and the CPV with a road map for cooperation between the foreign relations departments of both political organizations, exchange in economic-productive matters, cooperation between party publications, as well as relations between the Party's Provincial Committee in Mayabeque and its counterpart in the Vietnamese province of Vinh Phuc.
Other areas covered by the agreements are the Cooperation between the Central Bank of Cuba and the State Bank of Vietnam and in the sectors of Public Health and agriculture.
It was also announced the adoption of a Joint Declaration between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Cuba for the strengthening of solidarity and cooperation and the donation of 10,000 tons of rice made by the Party, the State and the people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the people of Cuba.
Nowadays Vietnam is the main investor of Asia and Oceania in the country, with several projects in different phases, linked to the production of basic necessities, renewable energy, construction materials and the agri-food sector.
