HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 25 (ACN) Cuba’s Political Bureau member Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with several officials from friendly nations in the context of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.
In a number of posts on X, Rodríguez Parrilla referred to his meetings with his counterparts from South Africa, Ronald Lamola, and Mali, Abdoulaye Diop, in which he highlighted the excellent state of the historic bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, as well as with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, to whom he stated Cuba’s interest in expanding economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Cuban official also held what he described as productive talks with Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia, during which they reviewed the excellent state of bilateral relations and joint cooperation projects and signed an agreement on real estate concession. Furthermore, Rodríguez Parrilla expressed to his counterpart his appreciation for the Russian government’s support and solidarity.
The Cuban representative participated as well in the High Level Meeting to Address Existential Threats Posed by Sea-Level Rise, a danger to almost one billion people, in which he pointed out that international cooperation must become a premise to cope with this issue on the basis of common but differentiated responsibilities.
