Havana, Sept 25 (ACN) The president of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament), Esteban Lazo and the president of Namibia’s National Council (Upper Chamber of Parliament), Lucas Sinimbo, expressed their willingness to strengthen relations between their countries’ legislative bodies.
During the meeting at Havana’s Capitol Building, Lazo conveyed greetings to the Namibian people, to Namibia’s founding father Sam Nujoma, to the second and current president of that nation Hifikepunye Pohamba and to his counterpart Peter Katjavivi.
Sinimbo, on his part, stressed the significance of his visit here heading a delegation to the International Seminar on Parliamentary Diplomacy and to meet a tight working agenda.
The Namibian visitor met with Cuba lawmakers heading different parliamentary commissions prior to his meeting with Esteban Lazo. Sinimbo learned about the work of the Cuban Parliament and about the work of the people’s power bodies at different levels.
