HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 25 (ACN) To Lam, President of Vietnam and General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party, will arrive today in Cuba for a two-day state visit that includes official talks with his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel and meetings with other Cuban authorities.
Mr. Lam met with Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla on Tuesday in New York in the context of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
At a recent meeting in his country with the Cuban ambassador Orlando Hernández Guillén, the Vietnamese leader reasserted the great importance attached to the friendship and special solidarity with the Cuban Party, State and people and remarked that his oncoming visit to the island would strengthen mutual trust and solidarity and take bilateral ties to higher levels.
Cuba and Vietnam maintain special historical relations based on cooperation and brotherhood.
