Vice president of Vietnam's National Assembly pays visit to Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 22 (ACN) The Vice President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Duc Hai, is paying an official visit to Cuba at the head of a large delegation of Vietnamese legislators

Council of State member Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, welcomed Mr. Duc Hai in Havana and conveyed to him warm greetings from Esteban Lazon Hernández, president of the Cuban Parliament.

“We are certain that your visit to our country will strengthen even more the historic and special relations between our two countries,” remarked Hernández Nordelo, who also stressed that he is honored to chair the Cuba-Vietnam GPA as member of a generation “that grew up admiring the heroism of the Vietnamese people”.

On his end, Mr. Duc Hai said he was very happy to visit Cuba for the second time to work “with our Cuban brothers, as instructed by our National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man”.

During its stay in the island, the Vietnamese delegation will participate in the First Vietnam-Cuba Interparliamentary Session, meet with parliamentary and government officials, and visit centers of economic, historical, scientific and cultural interest.
