Havana, Sept 17 (ACN) The president of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) Esteban Lazo greeted Hammoudah Sabbagh after resulting reelected president of Syria’s Peoples Assembly.
Lazo extended his congratulations on his X account and reiterated his willingness to tighten the links between the two parliaments.
Sabbagh was reelected Parliament president at a special session of the Assembly in Damascus. He has been on that post since 2017.
The Cuban and Syrian parliaments share close relations, which is evidenced by the Cuba-Syria Friendship Parliamentary Group, set up in 2023.lc
