Havana, Sep 16 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Monday that Cuba grants strategic priority to cooperation with China in all fields.
This fact is based on the bilateral political trust between Havana and Beijing, said Chinese ambassador to Cuba Hua Xin during talks with Rodriguez at the building hosting the Foreign Ministry in Havana.
In a message on X, Rodriguez described the talks as fruitful and added that he had reiterated the Chinese diplomat all support to carry out his diplomatic mission here.
In recent statements to China Global Television Network (CGTN) the Cuban Foreign Minister said that China-Cuba relations witness their best moment now, and will continue to strengthen in the future.
In that interview, Minister Rodriguez noted that Cuba grants priority to China-Cuba bilateral projects in the areas of renewable energy, agriculture and food, genetic engineering and biotechnology. Cuba is also interested in boosting relations with China in the fields of education, culture and science, and enhance the development of tourism.
Cuba and China established diplomatic relations in 1960; the island was the first country in the western hemisphere to have recognized the new People’s Republic of China.lc
