Academic year 2024-2025 begins in higher education in Cuba



HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 16 (ACN) The 2024-2025 school year for Higher Education began today with more than 220,000 students, including new and continuing students.

In the presence of Walter Baluja Garcia, Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di Lella deputy prime minister, Ines Maria Chapman Waugh deputy prime minister, directors, students and professors of the Havana Technological University Jose Antonio Echeverria (Cujae by its Spanish acronym) expressed their desire to belong to the sector and become a future graduate student of this house of higher studies.

During the ceremony that took place today at the center, Martha Dunia Delgado Dapena, Rector of Cujae, who was in charge of the main remarks, thanked the support of the State and the Government, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education (MES by its Spanish acronym), to reopen the doors of Cujae to new students, and continue offering a quality higher education, despite the difficult situation facing the country.

Delgado Dapena, commented to the press that this event has a special meaning for all those who follow the legacy of the unforgettable Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and his desire that this was a university that transforms the environment and transforms itself, maintaining an important and permanent link with the people from the neighborhoods.

More than 1,300 students, for an enrollment of approximately 5,700, entered the Technological University today and will be celebrating along with the continuing students the 60th anniversary of the founding of the university campus on December 2.
