Gordon weakens to a tropical depression

 HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 16 (ACN) Gordon during Sunday has weakened in the waters of the central Atlantic Ocean.

Its maximum sustained winds have dropped to 55 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts and its minimum central pressure is 1007 hectoPascal, so it is again a tropical depression.

At 6:00 p.m., Gordon's central region was estimated at 19.2 degrees north latitude and 46.2 degrees west longitude, a position that places it about 1575 kilometers east northeast of Barbados, southern group of the Lesser Antilles. It is moving on a near-westerly course with a translational speed of 13 kilometers per hour.

In the next 12 to 24 hours, Gordon is forecast to move with a similar course over the central Atlantic, decreasing its speed of translation, with little change in intensity.
This system offers no danger to Cuba and is only of interest for navigation in the area.
