Diaz-Canel heads party plenary session in Cuban province

 SANCTI SPIRITUS, Cuba, Sep 13 (ACN) With the presence of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the country, the Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the organization in the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus is taking place today in this city to evaluate how much has been done to correct distortions and boost the economy.

The meeting, which takes place at the PCC headquarters in the territory and is also attended by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, also focuses its analysis on the response of the territory to the indications of previous visits.

As part of the meeting, Deivy Perez Martin, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the province, presented a report on what the province has been doing in the midst of the difficult financial situation the island is going through, including issues related to banking and food production.

These extraordinary plenary sessions began in the western province of Pinar del Rio, seeking direct exchange with the party structures to focus actions on strengthening unity, ideological political work and economic activity itself.
