Cuba marks 45th anniversary of the Havana Convention Center

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 3 (ACN) Cuban authorities hailed today the 45th anniversary of the Havana Convention Center, a prestigious institution specialized in events and congresses, opened for the celebration of the 6th Summit Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.

“Conventions keeps a unique heritage: the Cuban style of Celia and the universal transcendence of Fidel, the essence of the Revolution and its place in the political vanguard of the world”, highlighted on X Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the country.

In his publication, the head of state congratulated the workers, the directors and those who were in the foundation, and witnessed the dedication of Celia Sanchez Manduley (1920-1980) and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro (1926-2016) to the work until its completion.

Esteban Lazo, member of the Political Bureau and President of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, highlighted the importance of Palco for the legislature, as it hosts the sessions of that body and its permanent commissions.

On the same social network, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero acknowledged the institution's staff and stressed that they take on every challenge with professionalism, dedication and commitment, faithful to the legacy of the Commander in Chief and Celia.

Founded in 1979, the Havana Convention Center has several air-conditioned rooms, modernly equipped, with simultaneous interpretation and advanced technology in audiovisual media.

Numerous national and international congresses and events have been held in these spaces, in addition to being the permanent venue for ordinary and extraordinary sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba.
