HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 2 (ACN) From very early in the morning, more than 10,000 educational institutions throughout the country will be celebrating today the return to the classroom of around 1.6 million students to begin the 2024-2025 school year in General Education.
This celebration will have its main event in front of the Ernesto Che Guevara Monumental Complex, in the central city of Santa Clara, with a great popular celebration of civism and Cuban citizenship.
Naima Trujillo Barreto, head of the sector, emphasized that in the midst of the current complex scenario, a high priority was given to updating textbooks, as contemplated in the 3rd Improvement of the National Education System, ensuring resources and study material base and the sale of uniforms to preschool and other initial grades, as well as fifth grade.
Barreto Trujillo emphasized the work carried out for the completion and stability in teacher coverage, where the implementation of Resolution 10 stands out, which updates the procedure for the payment of the teaching overload and seniority, which has made possible the reinstatement of more than 12,000 teachers, although there are still needs in some territories for which alternatives are being applied.
On September 16, thousands of young Cubans will return to the classroom with the opening of the new school year for Higher Education.
