HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 2 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, sent heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Major General Romarico Sotomayor Garcia, who died in the early hours of this September 1.
On X, the president said that Sotomayor Garcia dedicated his life to Cuba and was distinguished by his unconditional loyalty to the people, the Homeland, the Revolution, his Commander-in-Chief and those who have worked on his behalf.
Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power, also expressed his deepest condolences to the family and colleagues of the former deputy to the Cuban Parliament, among other functions.
Likewise, Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, also expressed his sorrow at the death of the Rebel Army combatant, who held important positions in the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.
Romarico Sotomayor, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, passed away in Havana at 85.
In accordance with family wishes, his remains were cremated and will be exhibited next Tuesday at the funeral home on Calzada and K.
