Cuba Marks International Day of the Victims of Terrorism

Havana, Aug 21 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez recalled the victims of terrorism in the world and especially in Cuba.

In the context of International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the Cuban official recalled the three thousand 478 murders and the two thousand 099 persons who were mutilated after being victims of terrorist actions designed, funded and executed from the USA.

Terrorist actions are openly promoted from the southern US state of Florida, Rodriguez noted.

Covert terrorist ops from the US against Cuba began in 1959 and since then thousands of sabotage actions were designed, executed and funded such as economic, military, biological, diplomatic, media and intelligence operations, as well as assassination attempts against Cuban leaders, add to this the strengthening of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade, Bruno Rodriguez pointed out.

The foreign minister recalled the bombing in midflight of a Cubana airliner, which killed all 72 people on board, the fire that burned down the El Encano shop in downtown Havana, the bomb attacks against Cuban hotels among others.

The International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism was established by the United Nations General Assembly to recall and pay homage to those who have been the victims of the terrorist actions. Lc
