Havana, Aug 20 (ACN) The 7th Latin American Parachuting Championship and the 3rd Parachuting Friendship Cup kicked off Tuesday in the western Cuban resort of Varadero, aimed at promoting experience exchange and friendship among local and international participants.
The event, running till next Sunday, includes competitions in the modality of accuracy landing in both sexes, according to the official program.
The competition, organized with the cooperation of the Cuban Aviation Club (CAC), includes parachuting teams from Brazil, Chile, El Salvador and Montenegro, and of course Cuba, while a team from Russia is also expected to arrive for the event.
Major parachuting experts at the meet include Brazilian Rodrigo Goncalves, Gilson Borges, and bronze medalist at a recent event in Hungary, Soraya Mendes. Cuba will be represented by experts such as Marisol Maldonado and Dalia Begerano; Oscar Arteaga and Raul Borges, among others.
Participants will show their jumping and landing skills and are expected to strengthen their relationships.
