Fidel Castro is honored throughout the country

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 13 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, recalled today the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the 98th anniversary of his birth.

Cuba awaited his 98th birthday last night in a sea of youth, who shouted in chorus Fidel, Fidel, Fidel, Fidel, with the same passion of their parents and grandparents, said the president on X.
Diaz-Canel assured that Fidel is the name of the Cuban Revolution for all times.

Our permanent homage to Fidel, the 98th anniversary of his birth inspires us to fulfill every day his Concept of Revolution, to be continuers of his legacy and revolutionary work; to face every challenge and challenge with his absolute confidence in Victory, said Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, on the same social network.

On the occasion of the date, Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Premier, congratulated the undefeated Commander-in-Chief who defended and dedicated his entire life to the revolutionary process.

Our best gift today is to be faithful to his legacy and his example, worthy followers of his ideas and thought, he added.

Fidel Castro Ruz was born on August 13, 1926 in Biran and throughout the years of the Revolution he promoted and led the struggle of the Cuban people for the strengthening of the revolutionary process, its advance towards Socialism, the unity of the revolutionary forces and of all the people, the economic and social transformations of the country, the development of education, health, sports, culture and science.

He was appointed Prime Minister of the Revolutionary Government in 1959 and in 1976 he was elected President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, a role he held until his resignation due to health problems on February 24, 2008.

The death of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro occurred at 22:45 local time on Friday, November 25, 2016 at his residence in Havana.
