Cuban Parliament issues statement

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 25 (ACN) The International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) joined the worldwide demands that the U.S. government correct an injustice.
Below is the full text of the ANPP’s Declaration.

The Government of the United States insists on lying about the reality of Cuba and its principled stance against international terrorism, maintained since the revolutionary victory. Through the use of arbitrary lists, Washington pursues political interests of domination and obstructs the right of the Cuban people to their development and well-being as it reinforces the immoral economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed for six decades in an attempt to make the nation surrender.

The Secretary of State's decision to remove Cuba from the group of countries not cooperating fully on counterterrorism reveals the contradictory and manipulative policy of the manipulation of the U.S. government in this matter. It is their duty to also remove Cuba from the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.

Cuba and its people have been victims of terrorist actions sponsored, protected, financed and organized by the U.S. government, which have killed 3,478 Cubans and injured another 2,099.

The world is increasingly demanding that the U.S. government correct this injustice. The presence of Cuba on spurious and totally groundless lists causes great harm to the Cuban people due to its intimidating effects on third parties.

Based on its categorical commitment to fight all terrorist acts, methods and practices, Cuba has never participated in the organization, funding or execution of such acts and is a State Party to all 19 international conventions related to terrorism, in addition to being the fifth country to ratify them all.

The International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba joins the international clamor and demands that the president of the United States make use of his prerogatives to amend this injustice.

Cuba does not sponsor terrorism. Cuba is a country of peace and solidarity.
