Cuba convenes major public health event and fairs in 2025



HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 4 (ACN) Cuban Ministry of Public Health ( MINSAP) announced the 5th Cuba Health 2025 International Convention, the 16th Health for All Fair and the 2nd International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair, to be held on April 21-25, 2025 at the Convention Center and the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana.

At a press conference held at the International Press Center, Dr. Ileana Morales Suarez, Director of Science and Technological Innovation of the agency, informed that the theme of the great scientific event will be Universal Health and Equity in Health, based on the One Health paradigm.

Hosted by national and international organizations, the convention's main purpose is to discuss public health management models in the post-Covid-19 stage and will serve as a scientific and academic framework for the exchange of the most relevant issues on the global healthcare agenda with a view to 2030, she explained.

The forum will address topics such as integral preparation for epidemics based on the experiences of Covid-19, the impact of climate change on health, safety and quality of medical care, chronic diseases and their increase in morbidity and mortality worldwide, arising diseases, science and innovation and the formation of human capital, the executive added.

Morales Suarez also said that there will be discussions on the inclusion of health in public policies, strategies and economics of healthcare activity, new processes in primary care, evaluation of healthcare technology, computerization, communication, ethics and regulatory laws associated with this sector.

As an initiative for this 5th edition, the first One Health Congress will be held to establish concessions on this paradigm as a pillar of sustainable development through conferences, workshops, symposiums and colloquiums, complemented by exhibition fairs dedicated to the national health system and scientific publications, book presentations and visits to centers, according to the source.

Pablo Castell, director of the National School of Health, pointed out that more than a thousand delegates are expected to attend, both physically and virtually, in order to increase the number of presentations of works aimed at solving problems in this field, as well as fruitful exchanges on topics such as maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases, care for the elderly, hygiene and epidemiology, among others.

In parallel with the Cuba Health 2025 International Convention, the 16th Health for All Fair and the 2nd International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair will be held; both are spaces to showcase scientific-technological advances, innovative business models, exhibitions of domestic and foreign companies, promotion of research, services, products and signing of agreements.
