Cuban Revolution Leader Raul Castro Turns 93

Havana, Jun 3 (ACN) Top Cuban government officials and people wished happy birthday to Revolution leader Raul Castro Ruz who turned 93 years old on Monday.

President Miguel Diaz-Canel stressed on X https://shorturl.at/R9tYP the exemplary life of Raul Castro Ruz, which encompasses the values of the historic generation of revolutionaries inspired in the unitary, patriotic and anti-imperialist legacies of Jose Marti and Fidel Castro.

Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo also wrote on X that Raul is an example to follow by any revolutionary, an example of discipline, experience, capacity and contribution to the work of the Revolution.

“It’s a great privilege to count on your example, teachings and commitment,” wrote Prime Minister Manuel Marrero on his X account in reference to army general Raul Castro.

And Communist Party organization secretary Roberto Morales thanked Raul for his firmness, confidence, altruism and modesty, and he said that Raul is an example for any communist and revolutionary Cuban. https://shorturl.at/WYKLx

Cuban Vice-president Salvador Vales Mesa wrote that Raul Castro along his brother Fidel Castro attacked the Moncada barracks and joined the Granma boat expedition to Cuba, they climbed mountains and later entered victorious in the city of Havana. Raul Castro Ruz was Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces from 1959 to 2008; he was Second Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party from October 1965 to April 2011, and from that point in time and until April 2021 was First Secretary of the political organization.

Raul was president of the Republic of Cuba between 2006 and 2018. During his term of office, he boosted important structural and conceptual changes to update the country’s economic and social model.
