HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 2 (ACN) In a post on X on the occasion of International Children's Day, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stressed that the country strives after the welfare and future of children, whom he described as the hope of the world, and that the Cuban Revolution observes the date on a daily basis for the benefit of their rights.
In another post, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, pointed out that the Cuban Family Code guarantees children’s rights to health care, education, foods, and protection against violence.
On his end, Esteban Lazo, President of Parliament and of the Council of State, congratulated Cuba's children and recalled Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro’s words when he said, “of a phrase of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro: "That is what we must think about most: the children of today, who are the people of tomorrow. We must take care of and look after them, for they are the pillars that underpin our every work".
Likewise, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero sent his greetings to Cuban children and, particularly, to those in Palestine who are suffering an unprecedented massacre.
International Children's Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1956 to remind citizens that children are the most vulnerable group and therefore the prime victims of the world's crises and problems.
