Cuba ratifies cooperation relations in SIDS Conference

HAVANA, Cuba, May 29 (ACN) Cuba ratified the links of friendship and cooperation with the countries attending the IV International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS), held in Antigua and Barbuda since May 27.

Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Kamal Kishore, UN Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction, in which the Cuban experience in this field and its cooperation with other developing nations in the Caribbean and elsewhere were recognized.

Rodriguez Camejo had also met with Abdullah Khalil, Director General of Operations of the Kuwait Fund, to review ongoing projects implemented in Cuba and possible future ones derived from the cooperation relations with the Fund, whose contribution has already benefitted almost a million and a half Cubans.

Likewise, the Cuban diplomat met with Dace Melbārde, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, with whom she talked about the good state of bilateral relations and the willingness of both countries to keep strengthening their ties.
