Marrero Cruz received China’s ambassador to Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, May 28 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz met with Ma Hui, ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cuba, whose diplomatic mission is coming to an end.

“We have very fond memories of your tenure as ambassador and feel a deep sense of gratitude toward you for your efforts to strengthen relations between our countries,” said the Premier, according to a Cuban government's post on X. “Cuba will always be grateful to the Chinese Party, Government and people for their solidarity and support”.

On his end, Mr. Hui remarked that he has witnessed historic moments of the relationship between the two countries and referred to China’s assistance to the island in the fight against Covid-19. He also stressed that mutual political trust and economic cooperation have increased a great deal during this period as a sign of the will of both nations to share a single future.

“Cuba and China have always supported each other at international level, which proves our willingness to protect the independence and sovereignty of developing countries,” the Asian diplomat commented.
