HAVANA, Cuba, May 15 (ACN) The ongoing 8th edition of the Month of French Culture in Cuba will merge culture and sports to salute the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Under the theme “On the Way to the Olympics", Cuba and France celebrate that Paris will host such a great sporting event for the second time in its history,” Olivier Giron, Cooperation and Action advisor of the Alliance Française in Cuba, said in statements to the press.
The homage has included a concert by singer Ivette Cepeda, the awarding of prizes to the winners of a contest organized to send Cubans to the Olympic Games, and the exhibition Paris Mon Humour with some thirty sports-related caricatures and drawings, in addition to the screening of French films, Mr. Giron pointed out.
The program, which also features lectures, cultural performances, panels, debates and exchanges with French guests and high-performance athletes, provides an opportunity to highlight the richness and vitality of French artistic production and strengthens relations and cooperation with the bridges of association and collaboration with Cuban artists and sportspeople.
