LAS TUNAS, Cuba, May 14 (ACN) The VI International Forum of Oratory “Pensamiento Martiano y Latinoamericano” opened its doors in this city with participants from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Russia and Cuba.
Recognized as the most important of its kind in the island and one of the most notable in the Americas, the event features the VI International Oratory Contest "Trincheras de Ideas" (Trenches of Ideas), in addition to workshops, panels and lectures and the contest to award a medal to the best speaker, a competition organized every two years at University of Las Tunas.
The forum invited the participants to delve into the work and the fiery emancipatory speech, eloquence and humanist ideas of José Martí Pérez on the 129th anniversary of his fall in combat, given the current complex socioeconomic situation in Latin America.
