HAVANA, Cuba, May 12 (ACN) A researcher from the Cienfuegos Center for Environmental Studies (CEAC) was in the team of experts attending the first meeting of the Coordinated Research Project (CRP) “Optimizing nuclear techniques to assess microplastic pollution in coastal areas”, organized in Monaco by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
CEAC MSc Yusmila Helguera Pedraza represented Cuba in the discussions held at IAEA’s Marine Environment Laboratories to review and plan for joint research on the assessment of microplastic contamination in coastal sediments using nuclear techniques.
Also attending the meeting were experts from Argentina, Croatia, Kuwait, Mexico, Morocco, Ghana, Kenya, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Romania, the United States, Japan, Panama and Greece.
