Havana, May 7 (ACN) The Eight Friendship Race will take place in Cuba on Saturday May 11th to mark Victory over Fascism Day, a historical event occurred 79 years ago.
The race will kick off from areas close to the Embassy of Russia in Havana at 10 am Cuba local time and will cover four kilometers of distance, said Carlos Gattorno, director of the National Commission of Maraban/Maracuba Races and Walks.
Prizes will be granted to the first three runners who arrive first in each category as well as winners from associations of physically challenged persons, another 600 runners and walkers will be acknowledged as well.
The Friendship race will recall the victory of the Soviet Union and the Allies over Nazi Germany in 1945, a historic chapter of humanity.
