HAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (ACN) The Meteorology 2024 Convention will be held in Havana later this month, an event that constitutes the preview of the cyclonic season in the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, which begins on June 1 and lasts until November 30.
The meeting will be held in person and virtually 27-31 of this month at the Tryp Habana Libre hotel, with the presence of researchers, professionals, teachers and students, reported the Meteorological Society of Cuba (SometCuba), its main promoter.
One of its essential objectives is to evaluate contingency plans in the presence of extreme meteorological phenomena, according to the bases of its call.
In particular, they added, to deepen and exchange views on national experiences and the state of knowledge in multidisciplinary research on the laws and mechanisms, highly dynamic, of the Atmospheric Sciences, according to the program of the group.
SometCuba also highlighted the celebration of the 5th history meeting, the congresses on tropical cyclones, pollution and chemistry of the atmosphere, climatology, and the symposium on agro-ecology and resilience to climate change.
As well as the Climate Change and Health Congress, the seminars on atmospheric physics and renewable energy, agricultural meteorology, marine meteorology symposiums, weather forecasting and the marine meteorology seminar.
