HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 30 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, denounced today US government's measure to revoke visas to European citizens who visited Cuba, and assessed it as a part of the extraterritorial application of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington on the Caribbean nation.
The U.S. Government imposes on European citizens which countries they can travel to and which ones they cannot travel to, said Cuban diplomat on X, regarding the recent denial of 300,000 entry authorizations to US territory to people with citizenship of European nations who had traveled to Cuba.
Ana Silvia Rodriguez Abascal, director of international bodies of the Cuban foreign ministry, said on the same social network that this measure has the clear purpose of damaging the country's income from tourism.
According to reports this week, Washington denied some 300,000 European citizens access to its Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), through which they can usually obtain a permit to travel to the United States because they live in countries participating in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program.
