HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 5 (ACN) Migue Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, today held a meeting with Tran Luu Quang, deputy prime minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, who is making an official visit to Cuba, the presidency announced on April 5.
This visit marks a milestone in our relations due to the moment in which it takes place, due to the circumstances that the Cuban people are living, said the President when he received Tran Luu Guang at the Palace of the Revolution.
During the meeting, Diaz-Canel said that Cuba has much to thank Vietnam for, and that once again, in difficult conditions, the Asian nation has shown its solidarity with the island.
Cuban Head of State took the opportunity to send a fraternal greeting to Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
For his part, Tran Luu Guang thanked the Cuban President for his words and expressed that his dream of visiting the Caribbean country had come true.
During the exchange, Diaz-Canel was accompanied by Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, member of the Political Bureau and minister of foreign affairs (Minrex by its Spanish acronym); Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign trade and foreign investment (Mincex by its Spanish acronym), as well as other MINREX officials.
On the same day, Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Cuban premier, also held a meeting with Tran Luu Guang, where they ratified the will to continue strengthening the historic friendship and cooperation ties between the two nations, the Premier informed on X.
Also on Monday, the head of the Mincex and Tran Luu Quang, representing the Asian country, signed a protocol containing more than 50 agreements in different sectors, at the closing of the 41st session of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic and scientific-technical collaboration.
