Havana, April 10 (ACN) The French Development Agency (AFD) has boosted cooperation projects with the Cuban Health sector since 2016, which have included the introduction of important technology.
AFD director Jean Mark Liger told the Cuban News Agency that his entity has handed over to Cuba more than 500 dialysis equipment for 58 nephrology centers, water treatment systems through inverse osmosis, hemodialysis machines and artificial kidneys to contribute to the Cuban patients’ quality of life.
Other AFD actions here include the expansion of vaccine production against meningitis and pneumonia at the Finlay Vaccines Institute for the benefit of Cubans and African nations as well, said the executive.
Liger also stressed cooperation accords with Havana’s Pedro Kouri Tropical Medicine Institute to reinforce research on the diagnostic, surveillance and study of infectious diseases.
The AFD also contributes to other Cuban sectors such as transportation, water resources, agriculture and education.
