HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 8 (ACN) Ana Maria Mari Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Cuban Council of State, received today, in Havana, Jagan Chapagain, executive director and secretary general of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
On X, the Cuban Parliament shared images of this meeting held at the National Capitol.
On the same social network, Chapagain thanked Mari Machado for the dialogue, which he said will allow strengthening collaboration and maximizing the humanitarian work of the Cuban Red Cross and the IFRC in the country.
The IFRC is the world's largest humanitarian network and supports local Red Cross and Red Crescent action in more than 191 countries, gathering more than 16 million volunteers who work to improve global humanitarian standards and persuade leaders to act in the interests of vulnerable populations.
