Cuban President: The Revolution Trusts its Youths

Havana, April 4 (ACN) Challenges keep being huge, but the Revolution trusts its youths, said Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel in his closing remarks of the 12th Congress of the Cuban Young Communist League at Havana’s Conventions Hall.

Diaz-Canel praised the congress’ debates in which participants addressed the current and painful migration of young Cubans though he said it’s also time to speak about those who are still here now, those who keep the revolution alive with their efforts under the economic hardships imposed by the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.

The head of state recalled that in the current scenarios, the Cuban youths have passed the test as the best revolutionaries and have stood out as good human beings who always look for the welfare of their people, the homeland, the socialist revolution and Cuba.

The President told the newly elected leaders of the youth organization to never forget the lessons learned over the past 65 years of revolution and to write new pages as Cubans did during the COVID-19 pandemic, other accidents faced in Cuba in the recent past like the fire that broke out in a supertanker base and the collapse of the Havana Saratoga Hotel, and also to be ready for future battles.

President Diaz-Canel conveyed the youths greetings from Cuban Revolution leader Raul Castro Ruz, who stressed the high quality of the congress and the commitment revealed by the participants during the debates, which he described as the reason that accompanied the historic leader of the revolution, Fidel Castro, to always believe in the new generations.
