VARADERO, Cuba, Apr 4 (ACN) With the participation of more than 250 foreign delegates, the international congress BioHabana 2024 seeks to establish scientific and commercial alliances and to increase the strengths of Cuba's biotechnological and pharmaceutical industry.
Santiago Dueñas, director of Science and Innovation of BioCubaFarma—the business group sponsoring the event—remarked that bilateral meetings with a view to cooperation agreements to develop research and health products will be held throughout the conference that cover fields such as the treatment of cancer and infectious, autoimmune, neurodegenerative and other diseases, as well as topics related to agriculture and stockbreeding, aging, medical technology, and bioprocesses.
BioHabana 2024 boasts the presence of George Pearson, winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and renowned researchers from Russia, France, Canada, Argentina, United States, China and Sweden, among other countries.
Featured in the program are symposiums and workshops on clinical trials, the One Health concept and the university-industry relationship, as well as the exhibition and commercial fair of BioCubaFarma's product portfolio, which turns the event into a platform for debate among scientists, opinion leaders, businesspeople and suppliers.
