Cuban youth reiterates denunciation of U.S. blockade

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 3 (ACN) Members of the Young Communist League (UJC) attending the 12th Congress of their organization raised their voices against the U.S. blockade of Cuba.

Delegates from various sectors of the economic, social and cultural life of the country described how Imperialism’s hostile Cuba policy, based on coercive actions and an intricate legal framework marked by economic warfare, affects them in crucial areas such as public health, power generation, science, and food production, among others, and has become the main obstacle to the island’s development.

The young diplomat Asdrúval de la Vega, member of the Cuban diplomatic corps in Washington, referred to these restrictions as unjustifiable and unprecedented, as well as a hindrance to the efforts of the new generations to have a more just and better country.

On her end, Mirthia Brossard Oris, head of the UJC’s Foreign Affairs Division, sent a message to the American people defending the right of Cubans to live in peace and build by themselves the country of their dreams without the aggression and constant interference imposed by the blockade and thanking the many signs of solidarity coming from U.S. citizens who demand the immediate end of the genocidal policy of their government.
