HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 2 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, welcomed today, on X, the delegates of the 12th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC by its Spanish acronym).
The president encouraged the participants in the event, which will last until April 4, to take advantage of the days of debates and activities planned.
We will be seeing each other at the Convention Center, said the Cuban head of state, anticipating some details of his participation in this youth festival.
Tuesday, as part of the first day of activities, the young people paid tribute and laid a wreath to student leader Julio Antonio Mella, at the University of Havana.
According to Aylin Alvarez Garcia, first secretary of the youth organization, the Congress will discuss the responsibility of Cuban youth in the present and future of the new generations, the organization itself, the Revolution and socialism.
Under the slogan Create your Happiness, the event will celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the UJC founded by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
