HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 2 (ACN) Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, hailed today the celebration, in Havana, of the 12th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC by its Spanish acronym).
On X, the party leader wished success and sent a hug to the 400 delegates who until April 4 will discuss issues related to the participation of the new generations in the economic battle, organic functioning, politics of cadres, political and ideological work, defense of the Homeland and attention to young people in the social sphere.
These will be busy days to reflect on their responsibility and that of their political organization in the continuity of the Revolution, Morales Ojeda pointed out.
On April 4, 1962, during the closing of the 1st Congress of the Association of Young Rebels, at the Charlie Chaplin Theater, now Karl Marx, the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro proposed and his delegates unanimously agreed to adopt the name UJC, so the organization celebrates its anniversary on that day.
