HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 2 (ACN) With the participation of more than 400 delegates from all over the country and about a hundred guests, the program of activities included at the 12th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC by its Spanish acronym), whose sessions will last until April 4, will kick off today in Havana.
Among the activities planned, a wreath will be laid at the monument that preserves the memory of student leader Julio Antonio Mella, at the foot of the staircase of the University of Havana, and a panel will be held on the implementation of the Policy of Comprehensive Care of Children, Adolescents and Youth, along with the presentation of the communication campaign to raise awareness of the importance of these issues at present.
During this initial day, there will also take place the awarding of state decorations to militants, cadres and collectives of outstanding trajectories within the organization.
According to the agenda of the event, the main debates on this occasion are related to the participation of the new generations in the economic battle, the organic functioning, the policy of cadres, political and ideological work, the defense of the Homeland and the social attention to the youth, among other issues.
