HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 26 (ACN) Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Prime Minister, described the fight against crime, corruption, illegalities and social indiscipline as a cross-cutting issue that concerns everyone.

Marrero called for deep analysis, to investigate the causes and conditions and to raise the demands of the leaders at all levels, in order to obtain results with the comprehensiveness demanded by this phenomenon which is of national security.
Through a videoconference with the participation of authorities from all over the country, the Head of Government emphasized the importance of informing the people in a timely and truthful manner about the actions of confrontation that have as main scenario the municipality and the locality.
He also acknowledged that, on many occasions, the population is not informed of the actions taken, the results, who is involved and what measures were taken.
During the meeting, the behavior of the extraordinary events related to the port-transport-internal economy operation was analyzed, which decreased last year, however, their economic impact increased.
In this regard, Marrero Cruz pointed out that, in the complex times the country is going through, most of the events are related to one of the main problems affecting the population: foodstuffs such as rice, flour and oil.
In another moment of the analysis, Cuban premier also referred to the fight against drugs and the new methods used at international level to transport all kinds of substances, which makes detection increasingly complex and, therefore, implies greater effort and rigor.
To this end, concrete measures have been taken with the General Customs of the Republic (AGR by its Spanish acronym), such as increasing preparedness, based on international trends, he explained.
Likewise, the confrontation against people who, in an unscrupulous manner, commercialize any type of narcotics is being increased.
The agenda of the meeting also included an update on crimes and illegalities that impact the country's financial flows.
In this regard, it was reported that the Ministry of the Interior is developing cooperation actions with the AGR and different entities of the Central Bank of Cuba, in order to prevent and confront the manifestations and criminal networks associated with the exchange and exchange of foreign currency in the informal market, illegal trafficking, swindles and financial frauds.
Finally, Marrero Cruz pointed out that although the figures of the fight against crime, corruption and illegalities reflect the work carried out, the impacts are not always appreciated, since there are indicators that decrease in relation to the previous month; and others grow and persist, such as theft in warehouses and crimes against livestock.
