Diaz-Canel visits entities of interest in Cuban western province

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 26 (ACN) With the aim of exchanging opinions and experiences that contribute to the improvement of working methods and styles, Miguel Diaz-Canel, president of the country, arrived in the municipality of Bauta, in Artemisa, after visiting Minas de Matahambre, in Pinar del Rio, in the morning.

The UEB Dental Dispensaries, subordinated to the Roberto Escudero Pharmaceutical Laboratory Company, was the initial stop of the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC PCC), reported on X the Presidency.

This UEB produces the jelly used for the ultrasounds of the maternal and infant program and the clinical Halitol for stomatological use.

For the entity, 2023 was a complex year due to the instability in the supply of raw materials and materials for packaging, a situation that its collective has been willing to reverse with alternatives.

Diaz-Canel called for research on raw materials that can be substituted and referred to the value of a good presentation of the products in pursuit of the population's faith in the drug.

The second point on the agenda in Bauta was the UEB of Dairy Products Julio Antonio Mella, known as Balkan, where instability in the supply of raw materials continues to be the most negative impact on their productions, especially in milk that is contracted to farmers.

At the Grain Research Institute, Diaz-Canel talked with Daysbel Toledo Diaz, Director of Science, Innovation and Development, about varieties of rice, beans, corn and other grain crops, and highlighted the collective's willingness to reach each producer with seeds that suit their soil and climate.

During a meeting with the authorities of the province and municipalities, he called for raising the levels of production and services in all activities to lower prices, better control inflation and go "looking for the recovery of the deterioration we have had in indicators of some social problems as part of the impacts of the intensification of the blockade".

The President was accompanied by members of the Politburo Roberto Morales Ojeda, secretary of organization of the Central Committee, and Gladys Martinez Verdecia, first secretary of the provincial committee of the Party, and Governor Ricardo Concepcion Rodriguez.
