Díaz-Canel praised Cuba's Botanical Garden

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 24 (ACN) In a message posted on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez described the National Botanical Garden (NBG) as a regional paradigm for its efforts to protect the island's natural heritage and evoked its inauguration four decades ago as one of the greatest environmental projects conceived by the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.

Attached to the University of Havana, the NBG stands out for its scientific, educational and recreational activity, supported by 500 hectares crisscrossed by more than 40 kilometers of roads and sown with hundreds of thousands of trees of some 3,000 species.

According to data consulted on the Internet, the NBG is home to most important botanical herbarium and library in Cuba.
