President of the Cuban parliament visits food industry entities



HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 22 (ACN) Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), held talks with technicians and specialists of the Argelio Reyes Aguilar Enterprise (Prodal), located in the municipality of Regla, in Havana.

The exchange took place within the framework of the process of the highest audit of the Ministry of Food Industry (Mina by its Spanish acronym), which will take place in July, according to the Parliament's website.

Accompanied by Alberto Lopez Diaz, head of Minal, and Yanet Hernandez Perez, Governor of Havana, Lazo Hernandez, who the also president of the Council of State shared with about a thousand workers of the entity, mainly dedicated to the production of croquettes, chicken and sausage for the population.

He acknowledged the collective's contribution to food production, and called on them to use their creative capacity to do more, with more science and innovation.

Osmany Barreiro Consuegra, general director of the center, explained in his presentation the business structure and the challenges of his group, especially the 215 young people who contribute to the current results.

The main productions are classified as conformed, frozen and sausages, and the main destinations are Domestic Trade, Public Health, Education, Culture and Sports, among other national economic institutions, he pointed out.

Barreiro Consuegra also highlighted how in 2024 the working relations with the new economic actors were strengthened, in order to boost idle capacities.

Lazo Hernandez was interested in working conditions, the stability and discipline of shifts, food and the average salary of the labor force.

The head of the Cuban legislative body continued his tour at the Oil and Edible Fats Company (Aceicom by its Spanish acronym), also located in the municipality of Regla.

Two business units operate in the entity: one for production and the other for logistics, which has undergone recent investment processes to modernize the important Havana industry, mainly aimed at improving the packaging and distribution cycle in the western region of the country.

At the end of the tour, Lazo Hernandez reflected on the entities of the Cuban food industry, key to the nation, and said, I think it is necessary to emphasize that, as part of the highest supervision of this sector, we require greater collective thinking of all its workers.
